Spring Break 2022

I remember the good ole days of High School and College Spring Breaks.  To the Beaches of Florida and not a care in the world except maybe meeting a cute boy and the weather sunny enough to bring home a tan!  Hotel quality didn’t matter and neither did the restaurants.  I wish it were still that easy.  When you grow up Spring break looks a little different, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have just as much fun.  Right?

Mike and I decided to expand our “Spring  Break” this year to 3 weeks.   We started off our vacay on Marco Island.  The weather was nice but a bit chiller than you would expect – so off to Alvins to purchase sweatshirts for the morning walks and evening chill after a day in the sun.    We’ve been to Marco several times and what keeps us going back is the laid back environment and restaurants.  The Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa was really nice.  Smaller than I expected but had more of a cozy feel and most important, well staffed!  Marco did not fall short on the excellent restaurants all in walking distance of the hotel.  I wasn’t able to enjoy all the restaurants that have become our staple since it was a short stay but we did make it to Snook Inn!  It’s an Island Staple.

After our 3 day vacay ended in Marco we then ventured over to the Naples Grand for our last night in Southern Fl.  We had a delicious dinner at the Capital Grill. Take a look at this sea food tower!  Yumo!  If you ever get a chance to stay a night.  Do It!

Our next week was spent on Anna Maria Island.  It was a glorious warmer week spent with my Dad and boys.  We used VRBO to book a fabulous house on the bay, only two blocks from the beach and a block away from the Village where we spent most of our time enjoying the local restaurants and music! It was a “Vibe”

Anna Maria was our longest week spending about 8 days playing and relaxing on the beach and utilizing the homes toys.  It had the perfect name “ The Sea Zoo” It was so nice to spend time with our besties who are lucky enough to live 30 minutes from this beautiful island.

Final few days were spent in Ft. Lauderdale.  It was so warm.  80 degree weather everyday.  Of course I loved the pink umbrellas and chairs. Gulf coast vs Atlantic coast.  Both beautiful beaches but totally different vibes.  Relax and Repeat is how we ended it.  So hard to board that plane back to Ohio, but its always good to be home.  Until next year!
