The Sora Lake House ~ “Finale”

Less than a month ago while in the home stretch of pulling the lake house together, the area was hit with what they call the 100 year flood.  We actually could have added a motor to the back of the house. Never in our minds did we think this would or could have happened to us. Well, happy to say we dodged a bullet and no water entered the home.  Once the water receded we continued with flooring and the delivery of furniture.  And….we now have flood insurance!

As we enter the month of June, I think we are finally able to enjoy our lake house.  It’s been painful, scary but so rewarding.

Color for the front door and bathroom is  “Sea Kiss”  from Valspar paints.

We chose this particular color way before we started decorating the house.  I had a vision and went with it.  So happy my husband was on board.  I am so in love with the way the kitchen turned out.  Notice the color of the back splash? I’m obsessed with the color aqua and you’ll see that I highlighted it through out the home.

We have well water so I prefer to filter my drinking water. This Brita Filter System is brilliant; https://www.walmart.com/ip/Brita-Monterey-Water-Pitcher-with-1-Longlast-Filter-BPA-Free-Black-Coffee-10-Cup/874747660

So every home has a statement piece.  I chose mine to be the dining table.  I wanted the table to fill the room.  This is where stories will be told and memories made. I fell in love with this farmhouse table from Furniture Fair. https://furniturefair.net Mike did a great job hunting this set down.  Don’t be afraid to shop around or ask to price match.  The anchor clock and light fixture is from https://www.wayfair.com

By shopping local and online like Wayfair and Amazon we saved money on the accessories. We kept the bedrooms simple.  No fuss but just simple touches of lake life accessories splattered here and there.  The first bedroom features the ‘pebble people”. I picked up the pictures from Kathryns who is local.  She has great accessories and gifts! The second bedroom features a print my parents gifted us.  That was a Walmart find. The sitting room is still a work in progress but having fun adding the subtle hints of nautical accessories, throws and pillows.

Last purchase for now is the boat.  We have our ‘sea legs’ and are having a blast.  Heres to a wonderful summer of living the LAKE LIFE!
